- Heat the oven to 400°F and prepare a baking dish.
- Peel pears if firm; slice and core them.
- Arrange pears cut side up and drizzle with lemon juice.
- Mix brown sugar, spices, and salt; sprinkle over pears.
- Add butter pieces and drizzle with vanilla.
- Bake for 30 minutes, turn pears cut side down, and spoon caramel over them.
- Continue baking for 25–45 minutes until tender.
- Turn pears up, spoon caramel on top, and add pistachios.
- Serve warm with desired toppings.
