- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Peel, core, and slice the apples. Toss them with lemon juice, flour, cinnamon, and Demerara sugar in a large baking dish.
- Gently fold the blackberries into the apple mixture, then add the cubed butter on top. Cover the dish and bake for 20 minutes.
- While the filling bakes, prepare the crumble topping by mixing flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add the butter and rub it in until crumbly.
- After 20 minutes, remove the dish from the oven and top with the crumble mixture. Sprinkle crushed cookies or Demerara sugar on top, then bake for an additional 30 minutes.
- Let the crumble cool for a few minutes before serving with vanilla ice cream, custard, or cream.
